Looking for the luck of the Irish? Get your green on for Rock City’s Annual Irish celebration and festival – Shamrock City!

Rock City, the famed attraction located atop Lookout Mountain near Chattanooga, Tennessee, goes green this March during its Annual Irish Celebration event. This premiere St. Patrick’s Day event includes live music, food and other entertainment! And one of our most spectacular attractions, High Falls, which runs beneath Lover’s Leap will flow green as the luck of the Irish flows through the heart of the mountain!

Enjoy listening to several live bands featuring Irish, Scottish, Celtic and Highlands Band Performances and see Irish Inspired Dance Performances and Lessons. Taste some Irish food, specialty beer and Rock City’s famous fudge with a “green” twist. And join us for many more fun activities including Suffolk Sheep Encounter and Shamrock Quest Kid’s Adventure. You’ll find fun for the whole family

This Irish festival, named a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society, will take place from March 11th & 12th; March 18th & 19th Saturday and Sunday 8:30am – 5pm

The attraction’s famous Fudge Kitchen will be making green fudge as well as providing fudge-making demonstrations. Other green-colored goodies available during the event will include kettle corn, limeade, specialty Irish candies, select drinks from Starbucks, and those interested in some hearty Irish food will be able to choose their picks from a selection of festive foods including stews, corn beef and cabbage, and more!.

After filling their bellies with delicious Irish dishes, visitors can check out Lucky the Leprechaun Kid’s Adventure. Kids can follow the shamrock trail to discover the “Pot of Gold” stamps located throughout the property, go on a Shamrock Quest, and even try their luck panning for gold.

According to Rock City staff the crowd numbers peak from 12-2. Arriving by 11 will give you a comfortable head start on the crowds to greatest enjoy your day!

And if you have the time there are several main hiking trails, that the locals love to hike, on Lookout Mountain that can be found on the main roads leading up to Rock City, if that’s something that peaks your interest, be sure to look beforehand at the options and locations of the trail heads to find which trails would give you the most enjoyment!
