Join us on Thursday, April 2, at 7:00 p.m. for “Calvary’s Tears – The Women in the Life and Death of Jesus” at Bascomb United Methodist Church, 2295 Bascomb Carmel Road, Woodstock; 770-926-9755; www.BascombUMC.org.
Holy Week reveals the true strength of the women in the life of Jesus. It was the women in Jesus’ life who remained with him at the cross and they were the first to show up on the first day of the week thinking they were preparing a dead body. Women were the first to see that death no longer had a grip on humanity; the first to hear that Jesus was not in the tomb! This musical drama remembers the women in the life and death of Jesus – their mourning, their questions, their understanding of who Jesus was in their experience. Come and hear them remember how he loved them, how he healed them, and how he revealed God’s Good News to them! We could all learn a lot from these women.
